The South African flag

The South African flag was first unfurled on the 27th of April 1994, which was the same day that Nelson Mandela became the president of South Africa.

The flag is always placed behind and to the right of people making speeches.

The design of the flag was the work of Frederick Gordon Brownell and it is the only flag in the world that includes six colours.
